Best Jittida Haputpong on why you should not rush to find a job straight out of university, business vs tech roles at IBM, selecting mentors, breaking down startup compensation package and leaving banking to join early-stage startup Igloohome in 2016
Episode Description:
Best Jittida Haputpong is Vice President of Business development at Igloohome (at time of recording), a tech startup from singapore which produces smart access solutions.
Best and I are ex-colleagues at Igloohome. (In this episode, we use Igloohome and Igloocompany interchangeably - Igloohome has been rebranded as Igloocompany). My opinion on Best - she is incredibly smart; she was a great colleague and leader. I’m really glad to have worked with her.
Some of the things we spoke about include:
joining a market research firm as her first job and then quitting just after a few months
joining IBM and seeing business vs technical roles
selecting mentors
breaking down startup compensation package
why and how she took the plunge to leave banking to join igloohome which was a really early-stage startup back in 2016
