Since the start of 2016 after signing up with KFit (similar to GuavaPass, who was later acquired by ClassPass), I have been frequenting Fitness Bravo. Jay Tee was one of first coaches whose classes I signed up for and that marked the start of a friendship with him and the journey with my HIIT gym of choice ever since. I love Jay Tee's classes - he always pushes you and I always leave his classes thoroughly physically spent and with a sense of achievement. (Maybe a blog post on Fitness Bravo and Jay Tee another time.) I was very happy to hear Jay Tee started a podcast (something that I've thought about doing) and was pleasantly surprised he wanted to interview me for his podcast.
In this (free-style) interview, Jay Tee and I spoke about a lot of things - my life in 2019, my unconventional career path, why diversity and contest of ideas are important, single factor that explains rise of tech unicorns etc. Enjoy the podcast in the video below - Lim Teh Podcast (Lim Teh means drink tea in Hokkien, commonly spoken in Singapore) can also be found on Instagram and Facebook. A friend of mine nominated me for this but I honestly thought I’d never stand a chance. (I’m not quite the target audience of AugustMan nor am I the influencer sort.) Lo and behold, I ended up being one of the 12 AugustMan A-Listers 2018. All 12 of us spent a weekend retreat together filled with planned challenges, laughter and whole lot of fun! I was very pleasantly surprised with the selection - all of us are quite diverse but yet we all gel very well together. All the rest of the A-Listers are very established at what they do - it was very humbling and inspiring being in their presence.

Forming strategic partnerships is one great way to strengthen branding and value proposition of a startup. What tops that is partnering a giant of the industry who’s also leading digitalization. It quickly cements branding association in consumers’ minds, brings you visibility to the giant’s much larger customer base and gets you connected to a network of other innovative complementary startups; scoring multiple wins. …literally. Being a telco partner, Igloohome was invited to a huge telco industry event in Kuala Lumpur to showcase our latest offerings to telco representatives all across the region. Besides setting up and manning a booth for 3 days, you’ll also find me in the video below presenting to 200 people. A lot of conversations were had, a lot of ideas discussed and a lot of new connections were made. And what a fantastic learning opportunity it was for me.
